Background:

  1. Graduated from Butte High School, Butte, Montana - 1970.
  2. Attended Montana Tech, Butte, Montana for one year, 1970-1971.
  3. Worked as a contract Miner for three years, 1971-1974 at the Anaconda Company.
  4. Member of United Steel Workers Union in June 1971 took an Honorary Withdrawal in June 1974.
  5. Initiated into IBEW in June 1974, Local Union 24, Butte, Montana. Worked as a Maintenance Electrician for the Anaconda Company until October 1975.
  6. Accepted by Local Union 1823, IBEW, as a traveler in December 1975. Moved family to Leadville, Colorado to work at Climax Mine.
  7. Served as Shop Steward, worked as a Journeyman Maintenance Electrician, from December 1975 to July 1985.
  8. Served as Secretary Treasurer Climax Unit, 1978 -1984.
  9. Served as President of IBEW, Local Union 1823 from 1984 -1987.
  10. I was laid off from Climax in July 1985.
  11. Worked at Tech Sales as a Wireman and Shop Steward from August 1985, through March 1987, moved to Denver.
  12. Served as Business Manager, IBEW, Local Union 1823, from February through March 1987.
  13. Served as Business Representative, IBEW, Local Union 111, March 30, 1987 through October 30, 1988.
  14. Promoted to Assistant Business Manager, IBEW, Local Union 111, October 30, 1988.
  15. Promoted to Senior Assistant Business Manager IBEW, Local Union 111, October 30, 1993.
  16. Appointed by the Executive Board to Business Manager/Financial Secretary IBEW, Local Union 111, October 1, 2003.

Assignments and Responsibilities:

  1. As Business Manager/Financial Secretary I am responsible as the principal officer of the Local Union and for the affairs of Local Union 111.
  2. I am responsible for maintaining a good solid financial base that will allow Local Union 111 to operate effectively and efficiently, and to be prepared to handle any situation that might arise with integrity and foresight.
  3. I am responsible for maintaining a working relationship and friendly relations with Employers that employ our members, and protecting the jurisdiction of the IBEW.
  4. I am responsible for organizing the unorganized.
  5. I am responsible for all the employees of Local Union 111.
  6. I have been appointed to serve as an Observer for the Eighth District Pension Plan, to the Board of Directors for the Colorado AFL-CIO, and to the Board of Directors for Labors Community Agency.

Unit Responsibilities:

Ultimately, responsible for all Units of Local 111.
