Background:

  1. Graduated from Longmont High School 1970.
  2. Member in good standing with the IBEW, since October 1971
  3. Employed by Nelson Tree Service performing line clearance work throughout the state of Colorado and Wyoming area from 1971 - 1992.
  4. Employed by IBEW, Local Union 111 as an Organizer in 1991, emphasizing on Line Clearance Tree Trimmers throughout Colorado.
  5. Entered (1995) and successfully completed Mountain States Line Constructors Apprenticeship in 1998 as a Journeyman Lineman.
  6. Employed by Sturgeon Electric from 1994 – 2005, as an Apprentice and as a Journeyman Lineman.
  7. Served as Recording Secretary, Steward and Chief Steward for Units 1, and 1B (Nelson Tree).
  8. Executive Board Member from 1999 – 2005.
  9. Appointed on staff at Local Union 111 as Business Representative and Dispatcher May 2005, by Business Manager/Financial Secretary Michael A. Byrd.
  10. Serve on IBEW, Local Union 111 Safety Committee, since June 2005.
  11. Serve as a Delegate to the Northern Colorado Area Labor Council.
  12. Delegate to the Colorado AFL-CIO COPE Convention 2006.
  13. Educational background includes: COMET I; IBEW Steward Training; Rocky Mountain Labor School 2005; Steward Training and School various years; George Meaney School of Organizing; Southwest Organizing School; Southwest Negotiation Strategy & Tactics; and IBEW 8th District Organizing School.

Unit Responsibilities:

  • Unit #1  Construction

Construction Dispatcher responsible for receiving and filling all work referrals for Outside Line Construction and assisting the Assistant Business Manager and Unit 1 Construction, as needed, while encouraging and participating on membership development.

Objectives:

To find new ways, through education, to change the mindset of the members from individuality, to become labor issue motivated, and moving as one force so that we might have more respect, dignity and diversity in the workplace.

To serve Local Union 111’s members and this great IBEW Organization to the best of my ability.
