Acknowledgments:
First, I would like to thank Mike Byrd for his
leadership of this Union, and for his support, training (and occasional trips to
the wood shed), that has helped me to improve in representing the membership.
Thanks goes out to John Sena for his work on the
Asplundh Tree group, the education in negotiating was the best (John knows how
to go up against the best a company has to send and get them frazzled!). This
group left Local Union 111 before a contract could be reached, which was the
plan of the Company all along. Be assured, John Dettl, of Asplundh Tree, will
not soon forget the lessons John taught him.
I am in deep gratitude to the Chief Stewards,
Stewards, and Unit officers who keep the day to day issues handled at the
various work sites. Who, without their help, I could in no way keep up.
A very special thank you to my negotiating
committee for DMEA: Judy Lindsey, Bill Hughes, and Dave Casias. This was my
first contract negotiation as an Agent, and their assistance and professionalism
made for a smooth and successful process. You three are the GREATEST!
And, last but not least, to Helen, Joan,
Gretchen, Lynn, and Jessie, "You are the finest Administrative Assistants in all
of the IBEW." You are always there with a kind word and a helpful attitude. You
make my job so much easier and always make me look good. Thank you seems so
small, but know that it comes from my heart.
Finally, I want to express my deep gratitude to
the Agents that I am privileged to work with in this great Local. I learn from
each one of you and am enriched by your friendship. I am truly blessed to be a
part of your team and look forward to the years ahead working together for the
betterment of the membership of Local Union 111.
Respectfully Submitted by Dennis Z. LeTurgez,
